What is wireless - Confused? Not any more.

How does it all work ?

Cork Community Broadband's wireless network provides a high performance point to multipoint and IP based Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution. This provides wireless local-loop (last-mile) connectivity designed to deliver high-speed data, Voice over IP (VoIP), and multimedia services to residential, SOHO, and small to medium enterprises. Cork Community Broadband's network delivers an "always-on", high speed Internet access and traditional voice services to customers across Cork County.

Cork Community Broadband's network offers the following benefits and advantages:

  • Extremely high performance at low cost - Flat monthly fee.
  • No telephone line rental - Customers are using VoIP after the cancel Eircom lines.
  • As no telephone line is required, we can't hide the cost of broadband in a bundle.
  • Bandwidth can be delivered from 1Mbits/s to 50Mbits/s.
  • Bandwidth upgrades can be completed while customers are on the phone.
  • Full "MESH" backbone to provide redundancy (Our network doesn't go down if we loose one site or link).
  • Connecting to multiple upstream carriers using BGP to provide redundancy
(We aren't reliant on any one transit provider)

  • Carbon neutral - Our sites use wind or solar to provide power to our access points.
  • Dedicated uncontended internet access available.
  •                                 Add VoIP and save
